How to make Washi Tealights

One of the biggest trends at the moment is colorfully wrapped tealights. I have received numerous requests to provide a tutorial on how to create these gorgeous tealights. Luckily for all of us, this is a very easy project!

Back in April, I had the pleasure of hand-crafting pink patterned tealights for Women of the Word’s “Grace and Truth” Spring Conference. We hand-craft each Fragrant Elegance soy candle product, and have designed all of our products to be incorporated into any design scheme. This allowed me to design tealights for Women of the Word (as seen in the photo)

Step 1: I chose my tealights. In the case of this particular event, these tealights were used as part of a center piece during a luncheon. Knowing this, I chose Vanilla Chiffon tealights- lovely and neutral.

Step 2: Visited Michael’s craft store and purchased Washi Tape (in many patterns because it’s more fun that way!). Women of the Word uses the color pink often on their website, so I made sure to choose pink patterns. You can probably visit your local craft store, and Washi tape is generally available in many colors and patterns.

Step 3: Cut tape and wrapped tealights. The Washi Tape I purchased was self-adhesive, no need for extra tape or glue.

Easy and done!

Since I couldn’t decide on which pattern I loved best, I alternated between patterns. What do you think?
