We’ve all heard the term “Dog Days of Summer”. I’m not sure about you, but I always thought the “Dog Days” meant summer days so devastatingly hot that even dogs would lie around on the asphalt, panting. According to Wikipedia: the phrase “Dog Days” refers to the sultry days of summer, traditionally between July 3 and August 11.
Unfortunetly, with the hot sultry days of summer, also comes odors. Think about it: all those wet towels, wet dogs, company rushing in and onions from the grill… Most people think of candles as a fall and holiday item, but in reality, summer is a great time to try new candle scents!
Candles not only smell fantastic, they can also help with removing offensive odors from the air. Cigar smoke odor, cigarette smoker odor, household and kitchen smells, pet odor, bathroom and other offensive smells can linger. Tealights and wax melts are other great alternatives that tend to mask the offensive odor with a more pleasant scent. Fruit scents, particularly lemon and lime, are popular.
Try to stay cool, and have fun during these hot “Dog Days”!
