Continuing on with our “Why Soy Wax? Top 5 Reasons” Series, this week is about our Economy.
Reason #4: Support USA
Soy wax comes from the oil of soy beans. The U.S. grows the vast majority of the world's soy beans, primarily in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana. That’s right you read that correctly: the vast majority of the world’s supply, not just the United States. Today’s U.S. farmers produce around 2 million bushels a year, making the U.S. the largest producer of soybeans in the world. The production and burning of soy wax candles can greatly benefit the American agricultural economy. Purchasing soy wax products supports U.S. soy farmers, which stimulates our economy and lessens our dependency on international resources.
At Fragrant Elegance, we use soy wax from soy beans grown by U.S. farmers. We go a step further by using 21oz glass jars produced by U.S. glassmakers, and all of our products are handcrafted and hand poured. You can also find our products at specialty retail stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut (feel free to visit our “Retail Partners” page on our website).
Next time you are in the search for home fragrances, we hope you’ll consider shopping small, local and made in the USA.
Next week we will continue with Reason #3 of the “Why Soy Wax? Top 5 Reasons” Series.
